Plot Overview

Introducing Nobuta

Shuuji Kiritani (Kazuya Kamenashi) is a very popular high school boy whose girlfriend is Mariko Uehara (Erika Toda), the most popular girl in school. Akira Kusano (Tomohisa Yamashita), his classmate, does not really have any friends - something that is attributed to the fact that he cannot read the atmosphere well. One day, a very shy girl, Nobuko Kotani (Maki Horikita) transfers to their school and is instantly picked on by a group of girls for her shyness. As a testimony to their youth, Shuji and Akira team up and decide to "produce" her, to make her popular. They nickname her "Nobuta".

Production of Nobuta

The various episodes deal with the pair's attempts at making Nobuta popular by making her more appealing. Amidst this, a mysterious person insidiously attempts to waylay all of Shuji's and Akira's efforts. Fortunately, the trio always manages pulls through with ingenuity.

Finale

Shuuji has to cope with his loss of popularity after he is caught out lying about Mariko and does not assist when a classmate is beaten up. Despite this, with the knowledge that his two true friends, Akira and Nobuta, will always be there for him, Shuuji gets over it. There is also the revelation of Aoi, Nobuta's first friend besides Shuuji and Akira, as the mysterious antagonist of the story. In the final episode Shuji discovers that he and his family must move out of Tokyo because of his father's job. Akira follows Shuji to his new home town and surprises him by showing up at his new school. Nobuta is left alone in Tokyo, but she has overcome her shyness, and is finally able to smile. She also becomes popular among the other students, and is no longer bullied. The end of the drama sees all three characters being able to "live wherever [they] are", having learnt the meaning of friendship and love.

Main Characters

The drama centres around 3 main characters namely Shuuji, Akira and Nobuko.

Kamenashi Kazuya (亀梨和也) as Shuuji Kiritani

Shuuji (桐谷修二) treats everything in life as a game, and thus, lives his life as a little white lie. He believes that by keeping up a "cool" façade, he can get to his goal without getting hurt. Because he chooses to hide his true self, Shuuji is, on the inside, a truly lonely person. Although he does not like Mariko romantically, he has lunch with her everyday in a bid to boost his popularity. He is only truly open to Akira and Nobuko, and considers the two as his only true friends. Always putting the feelings of others before himself, Shuuji does not have the power to say "no". He always bottles up his own feelings, and never complains.

Yamashita Tomohisa (山下智久) as Akira Kusano

Unlike Shuuji, Akira (草野彰) is not popular. Constantly on a soy milk high, Akira always finds ways to get on Shuuji's nerves. Despite this, they become good friends by the end of the series. With much money to dispense of, Akira finances most of their escapades. With no intention of following the footsteps of his father, the president of a company, Akira is a free spirit who would rather live his a life as a "dime in the street" and enjoy his youth. At one point in the story, it is revealed that Akira has affections for Nobuta. However, he does not pursue his feelings knowing that he will not be able to make her happy. He demonstrates a high prowess in karate easily beating up a bully and smashing through a set of tiles. Naturally forgiving, he is ready to forgive and forget, as long as it preserves his friendship with Shuuji and Nobuta.

Horikita Maki (堀北真希) as Nobuko Kotani

Nobuko (小谷信子) is painfully shy after initially being rejected by her stepfather at a young age. Following this, due to the fact that she finds it difficult to mix around and relate to other students, she has been continuously bullied through her school life. Because of the painful experiences she has undergone, Nobuko is cynical to the world. She believes that no matter where she is, or no matter how hard she tries, the world will still reject her. With Shuuji and Akira's help and encouragement, she begins to open up more to others. Nobuko considers Shuji and Akira as the two people who are the most important to her. At the end of the series, she has finally gathered enough confidence to smile and continue socialising, even without Shuuji and Akira.

Nobita and the Green Giant Legend 2008 (Eiga Doraemon Nobita to Midori no Kyojinden, 映画ドラえもんのび太と緑の巨人伝), is an anime film that was released in Japan on March 8, 2008.

The story is based on the story in volume 26 "Forest is living" and in volume 33 "Goodbye Ki-bō". This movie is not a remake, however, Ki-bō has appeared already in the 1992 film, "Nobita and the Kingdom of Clouds". The name Ki-bō comes from the words "Ki" (木) meaning tree, and "Bō" (棒) meaning a wooden stick. The word Ki-bō also comes from the word "Kibō" (希望), which means hope. The catch phrase of this movie is "僕らの希望が未来を動かす" (our hope moves the future), which Ki-bō's name can be referred to. Voices of Roku-chan and Moya-kun were done by anonymous children who were chosen.

The film was illustrated as manga on the February and March edition of CoroCoro Comic. Then it was released as the 25th film tankōbon, which may be bought at the theater. As the 4th "Sega=Doraemon" project, an action-adventure game was also released on March 6, 2008 entitled, Doraemon Nobita to Midori no Kyojinden DS (ドラえもんのび太と緑の巨人伝).

Hey! Say! JUMP is a J-pop group under Johnny & Associates, made up of ten members. Hey! Say! JUMP is considered an expansion of the original Hey! Say! 7. The name Hey! Say! refers to the fact that all the members were born in the Heisei period and JUMP is an acronym for Johnny's Ultra Music Power.

History

As Hey! Say! 7 (Temporary Group)
In a KAT-TUN spring concert on 3 April 2007, 5 members of Johnny's Jr's were named to be part of a new group called Hey! Say! 7. These members were Yuya Takaki, Daiki Arioka, Yuto Nakajima, Yuuri Chinen and Ryosuke Yamada. Initially, the temporary status of the group was unclear, worrying a lot of fans of Johnny Jr's groups J.J. Express as it could mean that the group was splitting up and that Yuya Takaki and Daiki Arioka would permanently be in this group instead.
On 16 June 2007, it was announced that Hey! Say! 7 would release a single, Hey! Say!, which was then used as the opening song for the popular anime Love★Com (Lovely Complex). The single also contains the ending song used for the same anime, titled BON BON. This is the first time a Johnny's Jrs group released a single since Ya-Ya-yah in 2002, and there was uncertainty in whether if the debut is permanent or just a CD release.
On 1 August 2007, the single Hey! Say! was released. The following week, on 8 August 2007, Oricon Style confirmed that Hey! Say! sold 120,520 copies in its first week and this made it top the Oricon Weekly Charts. At the same time, Hey! Say! 7 broke an all-time record by being the youngest group to ever reach the number 1 spot in the Oricon chart, with their average age being just 14.8 years.
In the month of August, the single Hey! Say! topped the Oricon Monthly Charts, outselling even their Johnny's Entertainment seniors, Tackey and Tsubasa and TOKIO. Since then, the Hey! Say! single had been certified gold by the RIAJ

Transition to Hey! Say! JUMP
The formation of Hey! Say! JUMP was announced on September 24th, 2007 during the Johnny's Jr Hey Say 07 in Yokohama concert, which was broad casted live by Fuji TV. The boys were introduced with reference to other debuted group such as NEWS and V6. This new unit will function in the same sense as V6's Coming Century and 20th Century with the two subunits, Hey! Say! BEST and Hey! Say! 7, where BEST stands for Boys Excellent Selection Team.
The word JUMP not only stands for Johnny's Ultra Music Power, but also jumping high in the heisei era. Immediately after the junior concert, the boys appeared on the filming of popular program Hey! Hey! Hey!, where they announced the unit officially. The new group draws most of its members from popular junior units Ya-Ya-yah and J.J. Express. The future of this unit is yet unknown but their debut single was released on November 14th, 2007, titled Ultra Music Power, coming in #1 on the Oricon charts for that week. It was the theme song for the year's Volleyball World Cup Relay. Also the unit had already held their debut concert on the 22nd of December 2007 at Tokyo Dome, where very few debuted units have had the chance for a concert, KAT-TUN being one of them. The date for the debut is to match the record set by Tackey & Tsubasa, who had their debut concert on the 38th day of their debut.
It was stated that the idea for the unit came from the overwhelming sales of Hey! Say! 7's single Hey!Say!. The members of the unit only found out about their debut three days before the official announcement. The average age of the unit is 15 with the youngest member being 13 and the oldest 18. Also with the unit having Okamoto Keito as a member, who is the son of Otokogumi's Okamoto Kenichi, marks the first parent-child pair in Johnnys.

Plot
After solving the Kira case, another serious case confronts L and he has only 23 days left to solve it.

A person who obtained the most horrible weapon, "Death God" says the same thing as Kira ... "I am going to change the world". A boy and a girl hold the keys to solving the case and L faces a crisis of global magnitude to protect the kids. He is without his most trusted partner, Watari, and cannot rely on just his superb intellect to solve the case.

The final case is involving a bioterrorist group that aims to wipe out much of humanity with a virus with ten times the infectiousness of Ebola, taking a boy, the sole survivor of its use in a village in Thailand, and a junior high schooler named Maki Nikaido under his wing.

Shunji Fujimura also reprises his role as Watari, though he dies early in the film as per the events of The Last Name. The characters Misa Amane, death god Ryuk, and Light Yagami also all have brief cameos in the film.

Hello Project new Unit

High-King

High-King (ハイ・キング) is a Japanese idol group within Hello! Project. The group was created to promote Morning Musume's upcoming rendition of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, titled Cinderella the Musical (シンデレラ the ミュージカル). Their sound is said to have an R&B feel.

The group's debut single, C\C (Cinderella\Complex) (Ｃ＼Ｃ（シンデレラ＼コンプレックス), was on June 11, 2008, under the Zetima label in two versions. The regular version (catalog EPCE-5561) contains the CD-single only, while the limited version (EPCE-5559～60) contains a bonus DVD.A Single V (EPBE-5294) will also be released on June 25, 2008. This single is coupling with Kioku no Meiro

Although High-King has members of varying ages, and are from different groups, reports are that when they are on the same song, they sing and dance well together. It is unknown whether this group will be a temporary unit, or will continue to produce singles after the musical. High-King leader is Reina Tanaka.

Takahashi Ai

Ai Takahashi joined Morning Musume in 2001 as part of the group's fifth generation, along with Makoto Ogawa, Asami Konno, and Risa Niigaki. Her debut appearance with the group was on their single "Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~", and her first appearance on a Morning Musume full-length release was their fourth studio album, the appropriately named 4th Ikimasshoi!. Her first appearance within a Hello! Project shuffle unit release was on the 2002 single "Shiawase Beam! Suki Suki Beam!" under the group name Happy 7.

In 2003, Takahashi replaced Mari Yaguchi in the Morning Musume spinoff group Mini Moni, first appearing in the group's movie Mini Moni ja Movie: Okashi na Daibōken! and its accompanying soundtrack. Her best-known nickname amongst non-Japanese fans, "Takitty", was derived from the cat suit (complete with tail) which she wears in the movie.

Later in 2003, she was part of the Morning Musume splinter group Morning Musume Sakuragumi, which performed mainly slower numbers on the group's two EPs, "Hare Ame Nochi Suki" and "Sakura Mankai", and the shuffle group 7Air, an R&B-inspired septet.

Takahashi's vocals became more prominent on the second and final Mini Moni album, Mini Moni Songs 2 (2004), as well as on Morning Musume's singles from their Spring 2004 release "Roman ~My Dear Boy~" onward. She also had a duet with Tsunku on the cover version of Tsunku and Ayumi Hamasaki's duet "Love ~since 1999~" on his solo album Take1.

In 2005, Morning Musume's first single release of the year, "The Manpower!!!", featured Takahashi in a prominent co-lead-vocal role, a role she has retained on subsequent singles since. In the summer of that year, she became part of the 2005 shuffle Group Elegies.

In 2006, Takahashi played the lead role, Sapphire, in the musical "Ribbon no Kishi The Musical" which was a collaboration work of Takarazuka Revue (a famous Japanese all-female musical group) and Hello! Project. The musical was based on Tezuka Osamu's manga and also starred v-u-den, Nozomi Tsuji, Aya Matsuura, and Natsumi Abe, as well as Marcia and Kaoru Ebira of the Takarazuka Revue. Soon thereafter, Takahashi released her first and only solo single to date, "Yume Kara Samete".

Following then-leader Hitomi Yoshizawa's graduation from Morning Musume on May 6, 2007, the current sub-leader, Miki Fujimoto ascended to the leader position, with Takahashi becoming the new sub-leader of the group. However, on June 1, 2007, after Fujimoto's resignation, Takahashi took over as the new leader.

Takahashi is also captain of the Hello! Project kickball team, Metro Rabbits H.P..

In 2008 Takahashi became a member of Hello Project's new unit High-King, a group created to promote Morning Musume's upcoming Cinderella the Musical.

Tanaka Reina

Reina Tanaka, member of the famous Jpop group "Morning Musume" was born the 11th November 1989, in Fukuoka. The kanji characters for her name (田中麗奈) are the same as the ones for the Japanese actress Tanaka Rena. To avoid confusion, Tanaka adopted hiragana symbols (れいな) for her first name when she joined Morning Musume.

She initially auditioned for Morning Musume during the Love Audition 21 auditions for the 5th generation members and was even featured on the MUSIX page. She is the only member to audition twice to get into Morning Musume.
In her first audition for Morning Musume, according to the rules she wasn't old enough to audition. She lied about her age, adding another year to it because she didn't believe she would make it very far. She made it to the boot camp but her true age was revealed and she was expelled from the audition, but then she participated in the 2002 Love Audition and was revealed among 12417 candidates along with Eri Kamei and Sayumi Michishige on the 19th January 2003. (She was the 1803rd candidate) Those three girls formed Morning Musume 6th Generation with the audition of Miki Fujimoto, and Hello! Project soloist. Before her second audition, she believed they wouldn't take her because of her lying mishap.
The audition song was Momusu's "Do it! Now". For the very first time, there was an Internet public pool in which fans could vote for their favorite girl. Reina ranked 8th and Sayumi 6th. Anyway, Tsunku, Momusu's producer, chose Reina, Sayumi and Eri as finalists even if Eri wasn't in the Top10.
The three of them had to practice singing and dancing during four days, so Tsunku could test their abilities. They had to sing on Melon Kinenbi's "Akai Freesia" and dance on their audition song, "Do it! Now. The original idea was to choose on girl out of the three but surprisingly, Tsunku chose them all to join Morning Musume. Reina had always wanted to be an idol and enter the entertainement industry since she is a big fan of Flame.

Reina has always had the reputation of a yankii (a rebel) since her first audition for Morning Musume, when she had blonde hair. The fact that she also wore shirts with skulls and dragons, and had a tendency to wear a lot of purple clothing, also furthered this yankii image with fans and is known as one of the most fashionable members of Morning Musume.

She is known for being the lead vocalist on her debut single. She sang a solo version of "Memory Seishun no Hikari" on the fanclub special Best Shot Vol.4. Since being the center position for "Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii Jan", Reina has gotten several solo lines in songs, and she gradually worked her way up to being one of the lead vocalists in such songs like "Mikan" and "Resonant Blue".

In 2007 she has her own solo radio at a radio show called FIVESTARS and In early 2008, she was announced as the voice actor for Kirara, the main character in Sanrio's Onegai My Melody Kirara☆

Morning Musume is at the forefront of Hello! Project as the lead group and indeed group with the longest and most colorful history. Formed in 1997 through the talent program ASAYAN, Morning Musume has became Best selling female group in Japan and has sold close to 20,000,000 copies in Japan.

Morning Musume were discovered through auditions to find a female vocalist for producer Tsunku’s group Sharan Q. Although the girls that would eventually form Morning Musume were not the winners of the audition they rose to popularity faster and to a far greater extent than the winner, Heike Michiyo.

The group is particularly well-known for its ever fluctuating line-up, with "graduations" and auditions occurring nearly each year. Each “generation” of members offered something to unique to the group and to this day Morning Musume remains fresh in it’s musical style and sound thanks to the ever changing face of the group.

The group is scheduled to hold a concert at Taipei Nankang Exhibition Hall, Taiwan on May 24, 2008. This will be their first time ever to have a concert outside Japan. Beside Taiwan they hold a concert at Shanghai and Korea too. Later during 2008, Morning Musume are teaming up with all-female theatre troupe Takarazuka to perform a musical rendition of Cinderella. Compared to Ribbon no Kishi, a greater number of Takarazuka actors will participate in the play. There will be 33 performances from August 6, 2008 through August 25, 2008..

- Story

Riiko Izawa has never had a boyfriend and she has been rejected by every boy she has ever had a crush on. When she returns a lost cell phone to an oddly dressed salesman, she mentions wanting a boyfriend so to thank her, he directs her to his company's website. When she visits the site, Riiko finds it's a site to create your own lover. Thinking its a game, she customizes and accidentally orders one. The next day, her new lover arrives. Following the instruction manual, she kisses him to wake him up and configure him to be in love with only her. She names him "Night." Three days later, she is shocked to learn that she only had him for a free trial. The salesman, Gaku Namikiri, tells her that she must now pay 100,000,000 yen for Night, or they will waive the fee if she helps them to collect data about how women think and feel to help perfect future models.

Riiko must keep Night's true nature of not being human a secret from everyone around her. She also finds herself in a love triangle between Night and her childhood friend Soshi, who declares his love for her out of fear he will lose her. As the series progresses, Night begins to develop real human emotions, enabling him to truly love Riiko but also resulting in system malfunctions. When Riiko almost loses Night due to the malfunctions, she realizes that he is the one she really loves. She apologizes to Soshi, who moves to Spain with his brother. As the series ends, Night begins to grow sleepier and sleepier. The problems developed by his exceeding his abilities eventually causes his machinery to stop working, resulting in his "death". Before he died, he wrote a letter to Soshi to tell him what was happening and asking him to take care of Riiko. Soshi gives Riiko time to grieve, then returns to Japan to be at her side again.

Riiko doesn't seem to have any luck with boys until she meets a strange salesman and ends up accidentally ordering a boyfriend: Night Tenjo. Riiko is rather naïve, clumsy, and simple-minded, but kindhearted and hardworking. She seems to have feelings for Soshi and Night, which becomes the primary conflict of the story.

Night Tenjo (天城ナイト Tenjou Naito)
Night is the perfect boyfriend: charming, dependable, intelligent, athletic, good-looking, sensitive, devoted, and completely loyal. Because he is unaware of certain social conventions, he often seems over-the-top and attracts a lot of attention. Although he is a doll, albeit of a high-caliber design, he seems to have genuine emotions and to want to become more human and be a better boyfriend to Riiko. He wears a mood ring that indicates Riiko's emotions. He later crushes this ring, claiming real boyfriends didn't need it, so he didn't either. His developing genuine emotions eventually causes his system to shut down, essentially resulting in his death. Before he died, he asked Soshi to take care of Riiko in a letter which he entrusted to Gaku to deliver.

Soshi Asamoto (浅元ソウシ Asamoto Soushi)
Soshi has had a crush on Riiko since they were both children, though he has never found the nerve to confess his real feelings and instead teases her. His father is a photographer who travels around the world, so Soshi lives alone with his younger brother, Masaki. Since Riiko lives alone at the beginning of the series as well, Soshi has promised her mother to protect her. He is a very good cook and usually gives Riiko food when he suspects she needs it. Near the end of the series, he moves to Spain with his brother, but six months after he left, he returns to take care of Riiko after Night's death.

Gaku Namikiri (ガク・ナミキリ Gaku Namikiri)
Gaku is a salesman for a company known as Kronos Heaven which specializes in making highly realistic robots, or "figures," for various purposes. Though usually businesslike and down-to-earth, Gaku is sometimes mistaken for a cosplayer because of his odd manner of dress. When Riiko cannot return Night nor pay the bill for him, Gaku allows her to keep him so Night can collect data on how to become a better lover for use in future models. Whenever there is a problem with Night, Gaku is the one to fix him. After Kronos Heaven attempts to take back Night and wants to dismantle him, Gaku decides to quit the company and opens his own business. Before his death, Night entrusts Gaku to deliver a letter to Soshi.

- Bloodline Limit Jutsu
1. Byakugan

Byakugan, one of the Bloodline Limits the Hyuuga clan possesses. It’s a jutsu activated in the eyes, much like the Sharingan. But if we look at its ability of insight alone, it exceeds the sharingan. This jutsu allows the user's vision to see a full 360 degrees. Byakugan also has the ability to view the inner coil system of a person's body, and in advanced cases, the chakra holes. Because of this, Byakugan is used in combination with Hyuuga’s Style Taijutsu. Attacking the inner organs, disabling or even killing their opponent, without even hitting them. Used by: Hyuuga Neji, Hyuuga Hinata, Hyuuga Hizashi, Hyuuga Hiashi, and other members of the Hyuuga clan.

2. Meat Tank (Nikudan Sensha)

Used after Multi Size no Jutsu. This sends the enlarged body into a powerful ball capable of tearing the opponent apart, but it uses up a lot of calories and chakra. Used by: Akimichi Chouji

3. Sharingan

A pupil born technique, which allows the user to do to a large number of things. The Sharingan's first and most well known ability is to memorize any technique that it is a witness to, as well as register the movements of opponents. Second, it is able to hypnotize the opponent, giving an advantage to the user. It can also suggest movements to the hypnotized brain, and 'see through' any illusionary technique. Although it is a powerfull jutsu, it consumes a lot of chakra. The power of the Sharingan is judged through the amount of dots in the person's eye. Used by: Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Sasuke, Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Obito

4. Bug clone skill (Kikai bunshin no jutsu)

Basically the kikai (or destruction bugs) turn into a complete and exact replica of the Aburame user. Used by: Aburame Shino

5. Double Wolf Fang (Garouga)

A high speed tornado attack in which Kiba and Akamaru attack the opponent by scratching and clawing at high speeds in which they cut their enemies into pieces. The speed is so fast that ithe users cannot see, but that is no problem, Kiba and Akamaru's sense of smell leads them to their opponent. Even if they barely miss the target the extreme spin still slices the target, leaving them weak for one more shot. The technique uses a lot of chakra and energy, usually leaving the users very wiped out and tired after with a very low amount of chakra. Used by: Inuzuka Kiba, Akamaru

6. Double Headed Wolf (Sou-Tou-Rou)

The attack in which Kiba and Akamaru are both in the forum of a wolf which increases their power 10 fold. Their attacks are faster and harder and they are also impossible to stop when in this form though because this form is so strong it also requires a lot of chakra and after this renders the user useless and almost completely immobilized. This attack is usally a combo with the Garouga for maximum damage. Used by: Inuzuka Kiba, Akamaru

7. Illusionary Underworld Moon (Tsukuyomi)

A special technique that can only be used by the Uchiha clan who posses the Mange Sharingan. The technique creates an illusion which can reflect on the past or just create an illusion where Itachi does to the target whatever he wants (ex. stick swords into the enemy's body over and over again). This technique is used to attack the opponents mind and destroy his/her spirit. The events which go on in the Tsukuyomi are translated into 3 days (72 hours), while in reality only 3 seconds pass. 72 hours seems to be Itachi's limit with the illusion. This attack is another strain causer on the Itachi and if used more then once, it can tire him out. Used by: Uchiha Itachi

8. Mangekyou Sharingan (Mangekyou Sharingan)

The Mangekyou Sharingan is the advanced form of the Uchiha clan's bloodline limit: "The Sharingan". It's the Uchiha clan's most powerfull eye-technique, if not the deadliest technique shown in Naruto so far. It's a very rare technique, and it's said only a true member of the Uchiha clan is able to obtain it. The only way to obtain it is by murdering your closest friend. In Kakashi's case it's slightly different, since Uchiha Obito sacrificed himself to save him. Kakashi's Mangekyou Sharingan also differs from appearance with Itachi's. It's obvious that the Mangekyou Sharingan surpasses the ordinary Sharingan, but there are some side effects. It puts a strain on the user's eyes, and if used too much the user can go blind. It also requires an enourmous amount of chakra, in Kakashi's case even more since he's not a natural Sharingan user. Once the Mangekyou Sharingan is activated the user can temporaraly render his opponent unconscious, and is able to use 3 new techniques. Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu and another yet to be revealed technique. The Tsukoyomi traps the target in a nightmare-like state, where the target is tortured for what feels like 72 hours (3 days) to him or her, but in reality is just 1 second. The second skill, the Amatarasu, creates black flames that can burn through any surface or object. Uchiha Itachi and Hatake Kakashi are the only ones we've seen it use so far, but there's also an unknown Uchiha Mangekyou Sharingan user that Itachi mentioned to Sasuke when he left the Hidden Leaf Village. Sasuke is the only other potential Mangekyou Sharingan user, but him possessing the Mangekyou Sharingan would involve killing his best friend, Uzumaki Naruto. Used by: Uchiha Itachi, Hatake Kakashi

1. Bringer of Darkness (Kokuangyou no Jutsu)
Creates an illusion of complete darkness over the battlefield. It traps the opponent into absolute darkness, where they can see nothing but their own body. The person/people trapped inside the genjutsu cannot see the user if the user decides to attack, therefore defending one's self is extremely hard. Used by: Nidaime Hokage

2. Clone Technique (Bunshin no Jutsu)
Everyone is required to know this. Requirement to Graduate as a Gennin. This is a basic jutsu. It creates illusions of the caster, in other words: clones. These are basic clones that aren't real. If they are hit by something, they automatically disappear. Used by: Most Shinobi

3. Haze Clone Technique (Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu)
The clones created by this technique are not real. They might have weapons with them and those aren't real either. When a clone is hit, it turns into a gooey substance which can either retake it's original form or just fade away. This technique is used in collaboration with people in the background. The clone will act like it throws a kunai knife, when in actuality, the user of the skill will throw a Real kunai knife. Used by: Oboro, Mubi, Kagari

4. Release (Kai)
A jutsu that destroys/cancels out an illusionary jutsu attempted on the user. Only Shinobi with strong chakra control (such as Sakura) can perform. The user releases a large amount of chakra then quickly haults it. The Genjutsu is usualy dispelled after that, depending on how strong the skill is. Used by: Shinobi with strong chakra control ability

5. Body freeze skill (Kanashibari no jutsu)
Used to immobilize enemies. It submits an extremely large amount of fear into the target, Usually the fear of dying in battle. They picture their own death. The fear stops them and freezes them in their tracks. Used by: Orochimaru, Hatake Kakashi, Anbu

6. Illusion Harmony
A genjutsu attack in which the user makes the opponent be strapped down by many chains and makes then think they are melting and being ripped apart. Used by: Tayuya

1. Sexy Technique (Orioke no jutsu [sexy no jutsu])
One of Naruto's own original techniques. Basically it's henge no jutsu, but the user would transform into a beautiful naked woman. This technique causes nosebleeds but sometimes it doesn't have any affect on the opponent (perverts). But most people (mainly adult males of course) are affected. Even the Third Hokage was defeated by it. Used by: Uzumaki Naruto, Konohamaru

2. Harem skill (Harem no jutsu)
This technique is another of Naruto's comical creations. It basically involves the use of sexy no jutsu and kage bunshin no jutsu combined. Instead of just the one beautiful naked girl, there's a whole group or just more of them. Hence the name Harem. This jutsu is more effective than the sexy no jutsu since 'this causes more nosebleeds'. Used by: Uzumaki Naruto

3. Air Slicing Blast (Zankuuha)
A device implanted in both arms of the user allows the control of supersonic sound waves and air pressure. The device allows the currents to be concentrated in one place, and creates large blasts of air shot from the palms. Used by: Abumi Zaku

4. Shuriken Shadow Replication (Shuriken, Kage Bunshin no Jutsu Shuriken, Kage Bunshin no Jutsu)
A technique that multiplies a thrown object into many exact replicas of the original. It's not just an illusion, it creates real clones that all do real damage. Used by: Sandaime Hokage

5. Armor of Sand (Suna no Yoroi)
Gaara's secondary defense, a thin layer of hard, protective sand that encloses around his entire body. This technique uses up a lot of chakra and also adds a considerable amount of weight to Gaara's body mass. Used by: Gaara of the Desert

6. Beast Human Clonen (Juujin bunshin)
Basically the animal turns into an exact replica of the human and it also works vice-versa. Used by: Inuzuka Kiba, Akamaru, other members of the Inuzuka clan

7. Body substitute skill (Kawarimi no jutsu)
It's implied in the name. The user switches his or her body with a plant, animal or anything for that matter. This is used to escape dangerous situations such as many sharp projectiles being flung at the person. Sometimes you can damage your opponent with this attack even. Used by: Most Shinobi

8. Dance of the Crescent moon (Mikazuki no mai)
A sword technique which creates two clones that attack simultaneously to confuse the opponent. Used by: Gekkou Hayate

9. Demonic Soul Sealing Technique (Fuuinjutsu Shiki Fuujin)
A sealing jutsu. Summons Death himself, which joins with the actions of the user. The Death Lord reaches into a outline of a soul infront of him which is actually the summoner. When the user grabs the enemy, Death extends his hand through the soul outline and comes out from the stomach of the summoner. Death's hand goes into the enemy's stomach where from it literally rips the soul out. After the soul is pulled back into the user, the user says "Fuuin" which means "Seal" in english and this completes the seal of the soul in the user's body. This can be used until the user runs out of energy, and since it is a sealing jutsu, there is a price. The user pays the price with his life, which death devours. The souls of both the user and the target are kept in the belly of the summoning, and are enemies for all eternity. Apparently if the soul is not completely extracted from the body, Death can cut part of it and seal just the part which he has grasped. In Orochimaru's case this was his arms, which are now lifeless and unusable. Used by: Sandaime Hokage, Yondaime Hokage

10. Dead Soul Skill (Shikon no Jutsu)
A jutsu which causes a dead bodies heart to beat for a few minutes. In this time, the user can move dead bodies, to act as targets or diversions. Used by: Yakushi Kabuto

11. Demon Monkey King Summoning (Kyuchiyose - Enkouou Enma)
A Jutsu that summons King Enma (Demon Monkey). Enma is also able to transform into the 'Thunderbolt Staff'. Used by: Sandaime Hokage

12. Desert coffin (Sabaku kyuu)
This jutsu is uses sand to wrap around the victim's body and render them immobile. It can also kill the person by suffocation. Used by: Gaara of the Desert

13. Desert graveyard (Sabaku SouSou)
This technique uses chakra to control sand and have it wrap around the victim's body. The sand then squeezes the victim's body and kills them instantly. Used by: Gaara of the Desert

14. Double Snake Assassination (Souja sousai no jutsu)
This technique is a murder-suicide technique. Both the opponent and the user must die. This is also why it is treated as a forbidden jutsu. Used by: Mitarashi Anko, Orochimaru

15. Earth Element, Earth Rising Wall (Doton Doryuuheki)
A jutsu which when performed, allows the user to spew mud from their mouth, which grows into a large wall or hard earthen material. This wall is able to block most other jutsus, and its extremely durable. Used by: Sandaime Hokage

16. Evil Sealing Method (Fuuja Houin)
Negates the effects of the curse seal, making it much weaker. It the subject cannot contain their emotions, the seal becomes active again. Used by: Hatake Kakashi

17. Fire Element, Fire Dragon Flame Blast (Katon, Karyuu Endan)
A jutsu that sends a stream of fire towards the opponent, in the shape of a large dragon, from the users mouth. Used by: Sandaime Hokage

18. Fire Element, Grand Fireball Technique (Katon, Goukakyuu no Jutsu)
A technique where the user builds up chakra in their chest and blows a large ball of fire from their mouth. Used by: Uchiha Sasuke, Uchiha Itachi

19. Fire Element, Phoenix Fire Technique (Katon, Housenka no Jutsu)
A technique where the user blows multiple fire balls from his mouth. It can also be combined with throwing weapons, which creates weapons engulfed in flames. Used by: Uchiha Sasuke, Uchiha Itachi

20. Five Element Seal (Gogyo Fuuin)
This jutsu is performed by Orochimaru on Naruto while in the forest of death. Using an odd-numbered seal on top of the even-numbered Kyuubi seal, the original Kyuubi seal is strengthened. As a result, Naruto becomes unable to control his chakra, and is unable to tap into his demon fox chakra. Used by: Orochimaru

21. Five Element Unsealer (Gogyo Kaiin)
This jutsu nullifies the Five Element Seal. Jiraiya used it to destroy the Five Element Seal attached to Naruto's stomach by Orochimaru. Allowing him to once again control his chakra, and tap into the chakra of the Kyuubi. Used by: Jiraiya

22. Four Image Seal (Shisou Fuuin)
The seal that Yondaime used to lock the Kyuubi inside Naruto's Stomach. Used by: Yondaime Hokage

23. Four Man Purple Flame Array (Shishienjin)
A co-operation, 4 person jutsu, creates a large purple box shaped barrier used to surround people or battles. Anything that touches the barrier bursts into purple flame. Used by: Sakon, Jiroubou, Kidoumaru,Tayuya

24. Hidden Mist Skill (Kirigakure no Jutsu)
A highly effective cover technique. Blankets an area in a thick fog, confusing the senses of the enemy. Used by: Momochi Zabuza

25. Hidden Snake Hands (Senai Jashuu)
A summoning jutsu that brings snakes into the sleeve of the user, which can move out and attack/grapple anything they want to. Used by: Orochimaru, Mitarashi Anko

26. Immortality Skill (Furou Fushi no Jutsu)
A jutsu that grants the user the ability to project his soul into the world, anchoring the spirit. The user can then find a new body, take control of it, and once again become young. It is a reincarnation ability. Used by: Orochimaru

27. Summoning Reanimation (Kuchiyose Edo Tensei)
A very high level and forbidden summoning skill. The user summons the bodies of the person/people he prefers in wooden boxes with their name on it. After the bodies are summoned the summoner must insert kunais knifes into the summoned bodies. These knives nullify the summoned person's soul and give control of the soul to the summoner.For this summoning human sacrifices must be made so that the soul of those whom were sacrificed can tie the summoned to this world. One person must be killed for one summoned person. Two for two and so on. Used by: Orochimaru

28. Lightning Edge/Chidori (Raikiri/Chidori)
A secret move for assassination purposes. Its secret lies in the speed of the thrust, and the activation of the body to generate a large amount of Chakra. He then concentrates that large amount into the thrusting arm and rushes towards the opponent. This ability causes the body to speed up, and therefore making the attack more deadly. It emits a distinct chirping sound similar to a thousand birds (=Chidori) chirping. It's Kakashi's only original move, and it's said that he once cut through lightning with it, hence its alias: Lightning Edge. Since straight movement is easily countered by the opponent, it's used in combination with the Sharingan. Used by: Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Sasuke

29. Mind Body Switch Skill (Shintenshin no Jutsu)
Allows the user to send its spirit energy into another body, and control them. The spirit energy travels slowly, and if it misses, it takes a good amount of time to return to the body. Any damage done to the target while the jutsu is in effect, is also done to the users body. Primarily used for spying, and lasts about 5 minutes. Used by: Yamanaka Ino

30. Puppet Skill (Kugutsu no Jutsu)
Uses a doll as a weapon for combat. The doll is controlled by thin, almost invisible strings that chakra flows down. The chakra brings the doll 'to life', and can be used to switch places with the user, attack, or hide itself as another person. Used by: Kankuro

1. Initial Lotus (Omote Renge)
A taijutsu technique performed by opening the first chakra gate, the open gate. It unfastens the control of the brain, and enables a person to use his muscles at their limits. Because of that the user is granted phenomenal high speed and power. But since it requires a lot of stamina it puts an unimaginable strain on the muscles. Omote Renge is launched by a kick to the jaw and putting the opponent in the air. Using bandages to hold the opponent, they are then spunned into the ground with extreme force. Used by: Rock Lee, Maito Gai

2. Inner Decapitation Skill (Doton Shinjuu Zanshuu no Jutsu)
The user hides beneath the ground, and reaches up to grab their opponent. The opponent is then pulled under the ground, up to their chin, allowing the head to be subject to more powerful jutsu.
Used by: Hatake Kakashi

3. Iron Fist Style Taijutsu (Gouken)
The hand-to-hand combat style which tries to break the enemy's bone and create external wounds. It uses strength alone and causes damage to the outer body. It's an offensive-type of fighting which Lee and Gai specializes in. Used by: Rock Lee, Maito Gai

4. Leaf Spinning Wind (Konoha Senpuu)
Used in Rock Lee’s combo fighting style, a powerful spinning kick aimed to knock the opponent upwards. Similar to Leaf Violent Wind, but more powerful. Used by: Rock Lee, Maito Gai

5. Lion Combo (Shishi Rendan)
A series of powerful punches and kicks, finished by knocking the opponent into the ground. Created after Sasuke witnessed Rock Lee's Initial Lotus with his Sharingan. Used by: Uchiha Sasuke

6. All Direction, High Volume Shuriken Firing (Naruto Ninpocho, Shihou Hapou Shuriken no Maki)
Technique created by Naruto which follows Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. All of the Clones throw shuriken from all directions, creating a devastating attack. Used by: Uzumaki Naruto

7. Pain of a Thousand Years (Sennen Goroshi)
A technique where the user sneaks up behind his opponent, and performs a very powerful asspoke. Sending them flying into the air. Used by: Uzumaki Naruto, Hatake Kakashi

8. Piercing Fang (Gatsuuga)
A powerful taijutsu attack where the user spins towards the opponent with amazing speed, in an attempt to cut and scratch them with claws, fangs, etc. In most cases, performed by two or more people/animals at the same time. Used by: Inuzuka Kiba, Akamaru

9. Primary Lotus (Ura Renge)
A forbidden jutsu performed by opening 3 chakra gates (releases the body's limits on muscle usage/chakra flow). It puts a lot of strain on the body and muscles and is nearly a suicidal attack. It goes beyond the speed and power of any other lotus technique. Continuous speed and high powered attacks makes this devastating to any opponent. The power can increase even more by opening more chakra gates, but the result is immobility of the user, due to torn muscle fibers. Used by: Rock Lee, Maito Gai

10. Lotus (Renge)
Renge, a series of high-speed hand-to-hand combat moves. Because of its high speed and power it requires a lot of stamina and it strains the muscles. Used by: Rock Lee, Maito Gai

11. Sand Shuriken (Suna Shuriken)
Wraps a thrown shuriken in sand, making it more powerful. Used by: Gaara of the Desert

12. Drunken Fist Style (Suiken Kempou)
This fighting style is extremely difficult to learn and master but in Rock Lee's case it is very natural.The style consist of high speed unpredictable attacks on the opponent, the whole style is very laid back and the user is usually seems to be messing around. They can pretend to be walking away, sleeping, or just being idle. The attacks are very powerful and even the best Taijutsu master would have difficulty dealing with the unpredictability of the whole fighting style. Rock Lee

13. Shadow Leaf Dance (Kage Buyou)
A technique that first sends the opponent airborne while the user attaches to the opponent's shadow, leaving the opponent vulnerable to stronger attacks. Used by: Rock Lee, Maito Gai, Uchiha Sasuke

14. Shadow Shuriken (Kage Shuriken no Jutsu)
A technique which places a second shuriken in the shadow of a first (thrown) shuriken, confusing the enemy. Used by: Uchiha Sasuke

15. Secondary Lotus (Omote Renge)
Like Initial Lotus, it is a technique where the user uses bandages to wrap around the enemy and then opening the Chakra gates spins the enemy at high speeds and then drops them into the ground.The difference between this Secondary and Initial is the speed is slightly faster in the spinning and the drop is much more powerful then Initial. This also puts a more extensive strain on the users body. Used by: Rock Lee

16. Uzumaki Naruto 2000 Combo (Uzumaki Naruto Nisen Rendan)
Similar to the normal Uzumaki Naruto Rendan, it just uses a larger amount of clones, producing more damage. Also comes in the 'Yonsen Rendan', which referes to the number 4000, simply means : more clones. Used by: Uzumaki Naruto

17. Uzumaki Naruto Combo (Uzumaki Naruto Rendan)
Naruto's version of Sasuke's Shishi Rendan. It's used in combination with the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. The clones surround the target and kick them upward into the air, Another clone then launches a clone (or the real Naruto) into the air above the opponent and performs a very powerfull kick, smashing them into the ground. Used by: Uzumaki Naruto

18. Initial Gate (Kaimon)
This technique releases the brain's limit on the strain of the muscles. This allows the user to have five times the user's normal strength and for them to use Initial Lotus. Rock Lee used this to defeat Sasuke before the Chuunin Exams and Kakashi also used this when climbing a cliff before he trained Sasuke for the Chuunin Exams. Used by: Maito Gai, Rock Lee, Hatake Kakashi

19. Match Punch (Taren Ken)
A TaiJutsu attack at such a high speed it seems there is a thousand punches coming at the opponent. The speed is so fast that it is impossible to tell where they direction of the main punch is coming from. Used by: Sakon

20. Rising Impact Palm (Shou-Geki-Shou)
A powerful attack which involves focusing a lot of power into a uppercutting attack using ones palm. This attack has enough power to even through the heavest opponents in the air. Used by: Jiroubou

21. Boulder Strike (Gan Geki)
A strong attack which can be used by Jiroubou when he has reached his cursed seal's second stage. Just a strong punch just with a bigger body. Used by: Jiroubou

22. Tackle Charge (Tokken)
Basically a strong charge, using ones backside and shoulders to apply an immense amount of pressure against an object or a person. Used by: Jiroubou

23. Match Kick (Taren Kyaku)
A powerfull high speed kick that hits the opponent in multiple places in an instant. Used by: Sakon

24. Leaf Great Spinning Wind (Konoha Gouriki Senpuu)
A very powerful spinning kick that deals a great amount of damage to the target. It's basically just a stronger version of the Leaf Spinning Wind. Used by: Maito Gai

25. Dynamic Entry (Dainamikku Entorii)
A technique where the user will surprise the target and use all of their speed, strength, and agility into a very powerful kick, It is most effective when the user performs a distraction and surprise the target from behind. Used by: Maito Gai

26. Dynamic Action (Dainamikku Akushon)
A very powerful and devastating technique where the user launches themself toward the target and performs a barrage of high-speed kicks and punches. Used by: Maito Gai

Naruto is an ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto with an anime adaptation. The plot tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a loud, hyperactive, unpredictable, adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition and aspires to become a Hokage, the ninja in his village that is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all. The series is based from a one-shot that Kishimoto first authored in the August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump.

The manga was first published by Shueisha in 1999 in the 43rd issue of Japan's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine and it is still being released with forty-four volumes. The manga would be later adapted into an anime produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex. It premiered across Japan on the terrestrial TV Tokyo network and the anime satellite television network Animax on October 3, 2002. The first series lasted nine seasons, while Naruto: Shippūden, a sequel of the series, began its first on February 15, 2007 and is still airing.

Plot
Twelve years before the events at the focus of the series, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attacked the ninja village Konohagakure. Powerful enough to raise tsunamis and flatten mountains with a swish of one of its tails, it raised chaos and slaughtered many people, until the leader of Konohagakure – the Fourth Hokage – sacrificed his own life to seal the demon inside Naruto when he was a newborn. The Fourth Hokage, who was celebrated as a hero for sealing the demon fox away, wanted Naruto to be respected in a similar light by being the containment vessel for the demon fox.

Konohagakure, however, shunned him, regarding Naruto as if he were the demon fox itself and mistreated him throughout most of his childhood. A decree made by the Third Hokage forbade anyone to discuss or mention the attack of the demon fox to anyone, even their own children. However, this did not stop them from treating him like an outcast and as a result he grew up an orphan without friends, family, or acknowledgment. He could not force people to befriend him, so he sought acknowledgment and attention the only way he knew – through pranks and mischief.
However, that soon changed after Naruto graduated from the Ninja Academy by using his Shadow Clone Technique, a technique from a forbidden scroll that he was tricked into stealing, to save his teacher, Iruka Umino, from the renegade ninja Mizuki. That encounter gave Naruto two insights: that he was the container of the demon fox, and that there was someone besides the Third Hokage who actually cared for and acknowledged him. His graduation from the academy opened a gateway to the events and people that would change and define his world, including his way of the ninja for the rest of his life.

The main story follows Naruto and his friends' personal growth and development as ninja, and emphasizes their interactions with each other and the influence of their backgrounds on their personalities. Naruto finds two friends and comrades in Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, two fellow young ninja who are assigned with him to form a three-person team under an experienced sensei named Kakashi Hatake. Naruto also confides in other characters that he meets throughout the series as well. They learn new abilities, get to know each other and other villagers better, and experience a coming-of-age journey as Naruto dreams of becoming the Hokage of Konohagakure.

Characters

-Naruto Uzumaki
Due to being the host for the nine-tailed demon fox, a malevolent creature that attacked Konohagakure, he is ostracized by the other villagers. He compensates for this with his cheerful and boisterous personality, and over the course of the series, manages to befriend several other Konohagakure ninja, as well as ninja from other villages. He obtains an especially close relationship with Sasuke Uchiha, one of his fellow ninja in Team 7, and treats him as his brother. Naruto's dream is to become Hokage, the village's protector, hoping that it will bring him the villagers' recognition and respect. In the original Japanese anime, Naruto's seiyū is Junko Takeuchi, and his English voice provider is Maile Flanagan.

-Sasuke Uchiha
He was a rival to Naruto, as well as a "cool genius". He is one of the few remaining members of the Uchiha clan, his brother, Itachi Uchiha, having killed the rest of their family. Sasuke's sole desire is to kill his brother, and he develops a cold and withdrawn personality. His interactions with his fellow teammates, especially Naruto Uzumaki, make him focus less on revenge, but an encounter with his brother, who leaves Sasuke beaten physically and mentally, causes Sasuke to leave the village to seek more power from the criminal Orochimaru. In the Japanese anime, Sasuke's seiyū is Noriaki Sugiyama, and his English voice actor is Yuri Lowenthal.

-Sakura Haruno
As a child, Sakura was taunted by other children for her particularly large forehead, but was comforted by Ino Yamanaka. As the two continued to grow, however, they became increasingly distant due to their shared affection for Sasuke Uchiha. Sakura is infatuated with Sasuke, and spurns the advances of Naruto Uzumaki. After Sasuke leaves the village, she resolves to become stronger by training with Tsunade. She displays highly developed skills from her training, and a more open disposition towards Naruto. In the Japanese anime, her seiyū is Chie Nakamura, and she is voiced by Kate Higgins in the English adaptation of the anime.

-Kakashi Hatake
He is the sensei of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.Kakashi treats his leadership position with a detached manner, and is consistently late to meetings as a result. In a gaiden on Kakashi's past, this is shown to be the result of an incident in which he witnessed the death of one of his teammates, Obito Uchiha, who gave Kakashi his Sharingan eye and imparted many of his habits, including his tardiness. Due to Obito's Sharingan, Kakashi has amassed a reputation as a skilled and powerful ninja, earning the moniker "Copy Ninja Kakashi". Kakashi is voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue in the Japanese anime, and his English voice actor is Dave Wittenberg.

-Gaara
A ninja from a village called Sunagakure, Gaara is the son of Sunagakure's leader, Fourth Kazekage; his siblings are Kankuro and Temari. He has the ability to control sand, a trait that sets him apart from the rest of the Naruto cast and earns him an infamous reputation amongst rival ninja factions. Gaara's backstory gives him a traumatic past, in which he is ostracized by fellow villagers because he is host to a demonic beast of great power. As a result of this experience, he is a ruthless killer, slaying others without remorse. He is cold and distant even with his allies and siblings, but the character develops as the series progresses. His battle with Naruto changes his outlook on the world, after being defeated by Naruto in battle, discovers that true strength is found in fighting for one's friends, not for oneself. Naruto's influence pushes him to aid others and in Part II of the series, he becomes Sunagakure's Fifth Kazekage. Gaara is voiced by Akira Ishida in the Japanese anime and voiced by Liam O'Brien in English anime.
